Chinese Gender Chart for Twins: Can It Predict Both?

Chinese Baby Predictor Team

Twins complicate everything — including the gender chart. Here’s the honest breakdown.

What the chart is built for

The Chinese gender chart returns one cell — one boy/girl verdict from a mother’s lunar age and lunar month of conception. It was never designed with multiples in mind, and no official leap or twin variant exists in the traditional sources.

The three twin scenarios

  • Boy + girl twins: the single chart cell can, at best, describe one of them — the other flips the prediction by definition.
  • Two boys or two girls: the cell “matches” both by luck half the time.
  • Fraternals vs. identicals: identical twins are always same-sex (one egg); fraternal twins can differ. The chart has no concept of any of this.

Fun workaround families still use

Many twin-expecting families run the chart per baby by pretending each was conceived on the estimated conception day of each placenta’s implantation estimate — which is medically unknowable in utero. In other words: pure theater, enjoyed anyway. 🎭

Knowing real answers for twins

  • NIPT works normally with twins and can report whether both are boys, both girls, or mixed (with slightly reduced confidence when results differ).
  • The anatomy ultrasound is usually able to sex both babies independently at 18–20 weeks.

Run the Chinese predictor for tradition’s sake, then let the scan deliver the real happy answer — twice. 💙💗💙
